Library Olympics
Library Olympics, introduced at Park Road Elementary in Fall 2016, offers an optional reading-related challenge each month for students in Grades 1-5. Students may choose to participate in a particular month, but might decide not to participate in another--it is not a cumulative program. When students complete a monthly challenge, they receive one raffle ticket for a chance to “win gold!” (or silver or bronze!) in the Library Olympics. A drawing takes place at the conclusion of each month to determine the winners.
Our prize structure is as follows: a student pool comprised of Grades 1 and 2 receive gold, silver and bronze each month; and also a pool of students in 3-5 receive gold, silver, and bronze each month.
Prizes include exciting school-related treats such as eating lunch in the library or reading to a classroom of younger students. All winners also receive a gold, silver, or bronze reading medal.
