Celebrate with a Book
For many years, the “Celebrate with a Book!” program at Park Road Elementary School (PRE) has helped the library grow and benefited the entire school through donations of books to the library. Families donate books to commemorate a child’s birthday, a holiday, a gift to a teacher, or any other occasion.
When families donate to the program, their generosity is recognized in these ways:
- A special bookplate is inserted into the book as a lasting commemoration of your gift. It is inscribed with your child's name, the date, and the occasion.
- Your child is also given the opportunity to be the first student to check the book out.
Because the library needs hardcover books that have library bindings and bar codes, we ask for an $18.00 donation. We then order the books from our usual sources. Book orders may take 2-3 weeks to arrive. If you would like a book to be available for a child to borrow on the day/week of their birthday, it is recommended that you order your book a month prior. We will contact the student as soon as the book is ready for circulation.
If you are interested in participating in "Celebrate with a Book," please download the form below, complete it, and return it to the Park Road Elementary School Library anytime throughout the school year (with a deadline of March 1, 2022).
Mrs. Tami Frocchi, the PRE librarian, is happy to answer any questions or discuss the choice of your book. She can be reached by calling 267-1525 or emailing Tami_Holihan@pittsford.monroe.edu.
