Stephanie Barg Appointed Mendon High School Assistant Principal

The Pittsford Board of Education has appointed Stephanie Barg as Assistant Principal for Mendon High School. She will begin her new role on August 1, 2025. “We welcome Ms. Barg to the role of assistant principal for Mendon High School,” said Superintendent Michael Pero. “She has a history of student-focused leadership that will serve Mendon High School well.”

Barg currently serves as the principal of Jefferson Road Elementary School. The search for her replacement will be conducted immediately. “Ms. Barg will be spending the next three weeks at Jefferson Road Elementary and will be accessible for any needed assistance during this transition,” said Superintendent Michael Pero. 

Barg has also served as Pittsford’s Social Emotional Learning Coordinator where she provided leadership and direction toward ensuring that all students develop the social and emotional skills they need to succeed in school and life. Prior to that, she served as the District’s Student Services Specialist/Teacher on Special Assignment assisting with the coordination, delivery, evaluation and refinement of policies, programs and professional learning. Barg also supported school mental health teams, and co-led the Trauma, Illness, and Grief response team in the District. In this position, she also served as Chair of the PCSD Health and Wellness Committee and managed the URMC’s Expanded School Mental Health clinic at PCSD.

Barg was a general education teacher for Pittsford Schools since 2012 for grades 1, 2 and 5. Prior to her employment with Pittsford Schools, she served as a long-term substitute in Waterloo Central School District, and a fourth-grade teacher for Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, FL.

Barg earned a B.A. in History from University at Buffalo, a M.S. in Inclusive Childhood Education from Nazareth University, and a M.S. Ed. in Educational Leadership from St. John Fisher University. She was awarded the Distinguished Leader Award from her cohort at St. John Fisher University and is certified as a School Building and District Leader in NYS.
